Blue Passes

BLUE PASSES (Student Release During School Hours 501.11)

Blue passes to leave the building are to be written ONLY by office personnel. When a student returns to the school building, the blue pass is to be presented at the office. Students using blue passes are to sign in and out on the special blue pass sign-out sheet in the office. Students are allowed only 5 blue passes per term without special permission by the principal.

501.11: Students will be allowed to leave the school district facilities during school hours only with prior authorization from their parents, unless the parent appears personally at the student’s attendance center to arrange for the release of the student during school hours, or with the permission of the principal.

501.11 cont.: Approved reasons for release of a student during the school day will include, but not limited to, illness, family emergencies, medical appointments, religious instruction, classes outside the student’s attendance center, employment for which the student has been issued a work permit and other reasons determined appropriate by the principal.

Medical appointments will require written verification from the doctor.
