Before inserting a charger into a device please verify 3 things.
Polarity - reversing polarity will permanently damage the device
Voltage - voltage that is higher than what the device is rated for will permanently damage a device
Amperage - Incorrect amperage will cause boot issues and will damage the charger.
POLARITY - REVERSING POLARITY will short circuit a device
EXAMPLE 1: The Center pin of the charger is POSITIVE
EXAMPLE 2: The Center pin of the charger is NEGATIVE
VOLTAGE = V
If the charger has a HIGHER voltage than the Device. DO NOT
Insert the charger into the device. Permanent damage will occur.
AMPERAGE = A
A.) Is the charger a higher amperage than the device? The the device can draw as much power as it needs to charge the battery and will charge very quickly.
B.) If the charger is lower amperage than the device. The device will charge the battery very slowly and eventually the charger will burn out. The mouse pointer will also move slowly and be affected by a low amperage charger.
C.) No battery installed on the device + Charger is lower Amperage than device. No damage to the device will occur... But it will take the device a few more seconds to boot during testing.
