Terms specific to this guide. “Lock Magnet, “Speaker Magnet”, “Keyboard Magnet”
Carefully open backplate around using plastic pry tool avoiding breakage to clips.
Please take note of the correct positioning of the the Lock Magnets below. - *** DO NOT GLUE the Lock Magnets back in. They are designed to move vertically inside the plastic retaining chamber as a magnetically locking system.
3. Your Lock Magnets may have been dislodged during a drop of the device and may be in this position when you remove the back plate. At this time remove both left and right Lock Magnets. There is no adhesive in here, just remove with a plastic pry tool.
.
4. Please note the horizontal piece of rubber liner. There is one here protecting the bottom of the audio speaker from wear and tear damage from the mLock Magnets moving up and down vertically from the removal of the keyboard. The liner may also be there to prevent the noise of the magnet moving up and down from being too loud.
.
5. Please note top of Lock Magnet has no collision foam/rubber liner. It is already attached to the bottom of the speaker as referenced in part 4.
6. Please note bottom of the Lock Magnet does have collision foam. This is how we determine how the Lock Magnets are installed back into the plastic chamber. Foam on the bottom of the magnet are designed to protect the plastic bottom portion of the tablet from damage and soften the loud noise of the magnet from moving up and down.
.
7. In step 3 the Lock Magnet was out of place. Because there is another magnet inside the audio speaker, this may cause the Lock Magnet to have a slightly weakened North or South Pole. To correct this and ensure the Lock Magnets are at their full strength and operating properly. Please attach the Lock Magnets as referenced below to the keyboard to “Recharge” their magnetic poles. Please note the position of the arrows. Leave the Lock Magnets on keyboard between 5 to 10 minutes. Then reinstall the Lock Magnets and close backplate.
***See step #3 to have the correct position of Lock Magnets. Do not try to tape or glue the Lock Magnets in. You will damage the locking mechanism between the keyboard and the tablet.
***Also if the Lock Magnets feel weak than they have not been properly charged and the connection between the two components will feel very “loose”.
***If you install the Lock Magnets in the wrong position they may get magnetized to the Speaker Magnet (inside the speaker) and will just pop off once the tablet is attached back to the keyboard, because there is a Keyboard Magnet (inside the keyboard) that is much stronger that will push the Lock Magnets out of place.
Q.C. NOTE: - PLEASE REMOVE AND ATTACH THE KEYBOARD 25 TIMES TO MAKE SURE THE MAGNETS DO NOT POP OUT OF PLACE. PLEASE ALSO LIGHTLY TAP THE BACK OF THE TABLET. The way this is designed, the magnets can come out during shipping of the device. -- PLEASE ensure TABLET is packed in box so there is no additional wiggle room for device inside the our standard packing foam.
