 Spring 2025     Poetry

Foolish Lemons

Hadlee Bingham

When life gives you lemons, you make a fool of

yourself. No one actually moves on; they just move.

When the future is thrust upon you violently,

dance. Live in that rainy opportunity and paint music.

Dream your dreams loudly like an ostentatious

requiem. All the feeling you can muster, and build your Stairway.

Laugh, like you were made for mirth and

failure. One step into a new shoe when you ripped your pants.

Live as if fear isn’t nipping at your

heart. Explode and smile and make a fool of yourself.
