May is already here! We have officially hit the final stretch of the academic year. I know this month comes with the stress of exams leading up to summer and late night study sessions. Whether you are preparing for final exams, wrapping up major projects on your course, or getting ready to finish the end of the college year, I want to remind you that you have all worked incredibly hard to get to this point, and the finish line is just ahead.
Please remember to take care of yourselves over the next few weeks. Drink water, get some sleep, and take a breather when you need it. Your Student Union is here to support you every step of the way, and running the "Health and Wellbeing Week" packed full of activities was great to see student involved in to help you recharge.

Health and Wellbeing Event Campaign
Thank you to everyone who took a timeout from the end of term rush to join us for our recent Health and Wellbeing Event Campaign. May is always an incredibly intense month, and it was fantastic to see so many of you pausing to take a breath and put your mental and physical health first.
We brought a variety of relaxing and uplifting activities directly to you on campus. Students across campus involved themselves with a game of darts, and many took a moment to share their recent achievements on our "What Are You Proud Of?" wall. Our positive message bingo wheel was extremely well received, allowing everyone to spin for an uplifting note to carry through their day while leaving behind their own words of encouragement for the next student. To help you manage exam season nerves and stay energised, we also handed out plenty of free fresh fruit and free fidget toys.
We were thrilled to partner with the mental health organisation ChilliPep, who were present at the events to offer a welcoming, supportive space for anyone needing a listening ear, including fun games with prices and special gift bags on their stall. Additionally, we set up dedicated information stalls and free health checks over at our Peaks campus to make sure you have easy access to vital physical health resources.
We appreciate everyone who made this campaign such a vibrant success, it was a great way to conclude the Student Union campaigns of the year and the SU can't wait to be involved in these events next year to definitely keep an eye out for!
9th May
On May 9th, we opened our doors to the local Sheffield community for an incredible Open Day filled with fun, food, and fantastic music and singing. It was wonderful to see students, staff and families coming together to connect and enjoy the high spirited atmosphere on campus.
The energy was high all day thanks to a range of fast paced activities, with crowds gathering to spin the prize wheel and test their reflexes on the "hit the buttons fast" game to win some brilliant prizes. Alongside the food and entertainment, visitors got to explore a fascinating stick insect stall and chat with a wide range of local organisations. We were thrilled to welcome charity partners from St Luke’s, as well as stalls providing freshly baked goods and local police officers who dropped by to answer questions and engage directly with our students.
The day was also packed with valuable resources, featuring dedicated career information hubs and our very own Students’ Union stall to showcase everything we do for the community. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support the event and make it such a memorable day for Sheffield!
