Ice cream is included and you can hang out with friends and sign yearbooks. You can buy tickets for a small fee of $5 during your lunch period this week. Again, this is only avalible to 8th graders on Thursday June 8th afterschool to 3:15

8th Grade Boat Cruise

On May 24, the 8th graders at Seneca Middle went on a special trip, arriving in NYC and having fun on a boat! Everyone looked super amazing in their formal attire. We had a DJ on the 3rd floor, where most of the dancing occurred. The 1st and 2nd level had food and drinks, where our lunch and dessert were served, or where you went when you needed to relax, whether from the dancing, standing, the sun, or dehydration. We went sightseeing, passing by the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, as well as other sights. You could also hang out in the sun, areas by the bow and aft(front and back) away from the dance floor/tables, watching the sights and water pass by. Overall, I hope everyone who went had an amazing time(especially based on cost, $130...) and laughed to the point of choking and danced until you felt sore, not because I want you to get hurt, but because that is a pretty big sign of enjoyment, and the best moments of life with those you love.

8th Grade Semi-Formal

Calling all 8th graders! Are you ready for your semi-formal? The Seneca student government is going to set up a dance on the football field, but this dance is for 8th graders only. The theme is, "Around the World," and there will be fun elements including outdoor games and obviously, dancing! Food and ice cream will be there also. It won't be directly after school, it is from 5pm to 8pm so make sure you have a ride. You have to fill out the permission slip before May 8th to have a spot and bring in the money by the 26th. If you didn't fill out the google form which can be found online, you won't be able to go, even if you try to hand in the money to your homeroom teacher.

Are you going? Listen, this is our last year at Seneca before the big game aka High School, and no matter which one you are going to, North, or East, even if you won't be at either, we will both have homecoming and prom and all of those things that we see on our screens as a quintessential part of HS. That will be later on but not too far away. So, let's enjoy Seneca and the things they have done for us, including the things we don't 100% need like activities and chances to be with our friends before we part our ways to different high schools in Sachem. So, I'll be there. Will you?

Frozen Jr. was a Smash Hit

I think everyone knows this years drama club production is Frozen Jr! On March 17th & 18th the amazing cast and crew knocked it out of the park with their rendition of Frozen Jr. I would like to point out this years four main leads. Cassidy Goodman as Anna, Bret Auricchio as Kristoff, Robert DePersio as Hans and Lucia Bruccoleri as Elsa. If you remember from Last year, Bret was Don Lockwood and Robert was Cosmo Brown. The two male leads! Everyone loved their show so let's cheer on our Frozen Jr. cast. Wahoo!

Senecon

San Diego Comic Con may be far away but Senecon is ready to adapt to our already very virtual world. Our students were visited via Livestream by celebrities such as David O Miller, Graff Lab Studios, Brent Daniels, and Shrikant Lyer. Students dressed in their best Cosplay to learn about the world of sci-fi and fantasy just like they would at a real convention.

March Madness

March Madness is always a hyped event here at Seneca Middle School. This year wasn't any less intense as multiple teams hit the court to show off their skills for a good cause.

 NJHS

For any interested 6th or seventh graders, National junior honors society has a few requirements. Seventh and sixth graders are required to be in two clubs or sports each year. Some very credible clubs include... Baking for a change with Faller and Frontino, Student government, with DeMeo, Saad club with Garcia, Drama club with Mr. DePersio, and Newspaper club with Miller. also, you should join a sport for your resume. Sports can be very inclusive and they take almost anyone who is willing to try out. If you want to see the NJHS form, click this link. NJHS form. YOU NEED THIS FOR NJHS   - Lucia Bruccoleri

New Seneca Club Info

2022-2023

This year, if you haven't noticed, we have many new clubs! If you are a current 6th grader, you may not know about the existing clubs that we had in previous years. Well, this year we have many new clubs. Some include Book Adventure club(see info to the left titled Calling All Readers), Club Improv, Card Trading Club, Comic Book Club, and Sound and Lighting Club. This may seem like a lot, but I'll briefly go through them with you. The book adventure club discusses the plots and events that happen in some exciting books. Club Improv is an acting club. Improv means improvisation, and in acting it means to do things without a script. So you are given some circumstance and act it out, depending on the exercise. In the previous meeting, people were selected and got an emotion. Then, they would pretend they were all on a bus and had to act out the emotion including anxiety, happy, dramatic, happy, jealous, and more. In Card trading club, you could trade cards and pay games with them. Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, nd many others are examples of cards, but keep them in your locker until you head to said club. Comic Book Club looks into comic books and graphic novels, and even makes their own unique stories. Last but not least, Sound and Lighting Club. In this club, you would go up into the lighting and sound board and learn how to operate it. If you join this club, it would be a great  learning opportunity if you plan on being in the backstage crew of Drama, or if you plan on working in a similar career.  If you are interested in any of these clubs(and aren't already in like a dozen clubs) I would recommend joining. If you do feel like you are taking on too much(you aren't doing well, you don't have time to socialize because you're in a club everyday and have homework, you miss multiple clubs because you attend others on the same day) then don't be afraid to leave, ask the staff member running the club if you could be removed, or just find a way to do well in school creatively. And if you don't want to join any of these, join a different club! Might I suggest Newspaper Club?

P.S. I love You Day

Seneca is celebrated P.S. I love you day to support mental health awareness. This is the date when someone took their own life, and on that day we wear purple to    show we are available and will trust you if you need to talk about your mental health. Wearing purple signals that you don't have to always hold everything in all the time, and you can go to a teacher, classmate, etc.

On Friday, February 11th, students wore purple to encourage mental health awareness!
