First tip Download the latest Pages - it has epub functionality. Publish your blogs, stories, tutorials, etc in epub format and then pick them up on your ibook app as a published ibook. Upload through itunes. (Or easy upload through dropbox or box.net and use the free Kobo ipad app to view them as published books.)
Second tipIf you are leaving your computer temporarily you can lock you computer with a screensaver. Go to system preferences and click on security. Under the general tab, check the box beside the word 'require password after sleep or screensaver begins'. Choose how long you want to have it activated for (the time you choose is the time you can reactiviate without needing the password. After that time you will need to put in the password.
Third tipIf you change to Snow Leopard you will love QTX which has screen recording, but unfortunately the editing is not as good as QT7. You can only trim from beginning and end, and cannot cut chunks from the middle of a video. Therefore you need to keep QT7 as well. After installing Snow Leopard you may think that QT7 has vanished and been replaced by QTX, but you can still find QT7 in your utilities folder. Or you can get it from Apple - just find a qtx file and try to open it. When the message pops up, click install and install it on your computer.
Fourth TipEver been in a meeting and need to turn off your volume without beeping? Change the volume on the Mac silently by holding the shift key down while pressing the volume down button.
Fifth TipWas going to talk about dropbox but see that Matt has already done that, so I will just advise you to use dropbox, box.net or similar sites to store media files. Easy to transfer to mobile devices and easy to use as file storage when making websites using iweb.
