Term3-Lesson5

Leading the learning

Direct Instruction

The learning intention for this lesson was to think of multiple outcomes for the same scenarios. The idea behind this task was to force the learners to think of new ideas, and consider new options for story telling. In this task they were required to write more than one ending to the story. In total they needed to write 5 decisions that lead to 4 possible endings. The idea is that the reader will be able to choose the ending. This video shows how I am giving time to the learners to write specific sections of their story, as well as modelling a story to the learners.

Reflection/ Next steps

This was a difficult task for many of the learners. Ending a story is still the most difficult part for many of my learners so to ask for 4 different endings was a bit of a stretch for some. Overall this task was fairly successful though. Some things I would change would be to provide more structure to what the story should be about. Many learners either copied each other, or the story that I wrote as

Things to note

In the video unfortunately you can't see the tv screen. However, the TV screen is showing the doc I am writing on. So most of the learners are following my writing visually on the screen.
