We need to prepare college and career ready individuals. In doing so, we can use technology as a tool to not only educate students, but also to engage students, enhance communication, encourage higher levels of learning, and empower them for success in an ever-changing society.

Google Sites

· Create a link from your school website to your personal website; provide links to your curriculum, lesson plans, organizations and activities you sponsor, additional websites links and resources, photos, etc. Attach parent letters/information!

· Add Picasa Albums; create albums for your organizations

· School—Add School Improvement to your website and house documentation for accreditation

Google Forms

· Create student participation observations forms (page of several examples)

· Create lab evaluation forms

· Students create observations for use in Child Development/Early Childhood/Preschool Classrooms

· Students create surveys and analyze the data: Digestion Survey

· Benefits-students and parents have access to photos with ability to print; Yearbook, School Staff, local paper can locate photos they need for publicity

ANGEL (e-learning system-similar to Moodle, now purchased by Blackboard)

· Students can view PowerPoints, videos, notes,

· Students can blog, chat, take assessments,

· Submit PowerPoints and media projects.

· Excellent way for students to keep up when absent from the classroom

Study Blue

· Create on-line flashcards, take quizzes, take notes, import and export Notes/PowerPoint/Pictures, Handouts, etc. App available to study on phone, iPad, etc.

· Can Print materials and share with others, set up classes, use Facebook, Twitter, and “chat”

· Create a quick and easy movies on a classroom project in place of posters/powerpoints

Career Connections

· Website in Nebraska students/parents use to take assessments and locate information on careers; create Personal Learning Plans; links to colleges throughout the United States; based on Career Clusters, etc.

· State trains teachers/schools; ability to become a school-wide program; all teachers can mentor all students; parent training; career curriculum for all areas.
