1. 1991 DESERT STORM: AMERICANS GO TO KUWAIT/ IRAQ

Iraqi Leader Sadam Husein orders oil wells in the Kuwaiti

desert to be blown up. Oil sprays out of the ground, much of

it burns, turning night into day.

1. EXON VALDEZ OIL SPILL:

- 1989 Oil tanker runs aground and spills oil in Alaska (arctic)

2. GULF of MEXICO OIL SPILL:

British Petroleum (BP) had an oil drilling Derek in the Ocean that

leaked millions of gallons of water into the Gulf of Mexico.
