Natural Disasters: What do the words mean?

Natural: Occurs in nature, non man made

Disaster: Human component: Death and destruction often the result.

Nature does what it does, it is actually often just a continuation of the process of building landforms and

breaking them down.

What Landforms (significant land shapes- hills, valleys, mountains, plateaus etc..) are created and worn away by Natural events?

- Mountains and valleys can be created by Earthquakes (movement of the earth's plates).

- Mountains can be created by Volcanoes

- Mountains can be eroded by snow and ice (Canadian Shield used to be a mountain that was 12 000 meters hi.
