Quizalize

It is like Kahoot but a little easier to build the questions, allows you to assign it for a classroom game OR homework (individual) and teachers can sell the quizzes to Quizalize for 70% of the purchase price. 

Also it breaks the data down into who mastered the material and who needs help. 

Students can record their work (for math or science) with a smart phone or webcam and upload it to their answer.

There are some ready-made quizzes that you can use or you can purchase one (lots are .99)

Here is an example (only two questions long):
Go to zzi.sh 
Enter ztd 7863 (but remove the space)
Enter a name (yours or a fictional character's name)

Crosswords for Student

 A good review of it from EducationWorld was recently updated
NYTimes.com has a 'Student Crossword Archive' of "more than 150 puzzles on topics inspired by subjects across the curriculum. Each one is written by Times crossword master Frank Longo, and each comes with links to the answers and to more Times and Learning Network content on the topic." (Source of discovery: ResearchBuzz.com)  

Note that the Website may restrict the number of visits each month as it does for articles.
