We are thrilled to announce that applications for the Roy Mora Memorial Scholarship are now available through the Mendocino Coast Safe Space Project (MCSSP)!
This scholarship honors the memory of Roy Mora, a beloved member of our community who lived his truth as a transgender youth. He was cherished by his family and friends, and we have dedicated this scholarship in his name to continue his legacy and support others in their journeys.
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is open to all high school students in Mendocino County who identify as part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Whether you're trans, non-binary, queer, questioning, asexual, or still figuring it out, we want to hear from you!
Deadline: April 14th, 2025
What’s Unique?
We encourage you to express your story and aspirations in a way that feels right for you—be it through a video, audio recording, art piece, or written essay. We believe in making this process accessible to everyone!
Scholarship Amounts:
Funds will range from $500 to $1500, awarded to up to three individuals, to support your creative projects, education, career exploration, and more!
Eligibility:
- Must be completing school this school year (24/25) (graduating, GED, CHSPED, all welcome)
- Identify as LGBTQIA2S+
- Resident of Mendocino County
- No GPA requirement!
