Jerry Juhl Fund for the Arts

Description: $2500 scholarship. College bound senior pursuing a career in the performing arts including music, dance, theatre, film and puppetry. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA is desired but not necessary.   

Details: Created by Susan Juhl in honor of her husband, Jerry, this scholarship is for Mendocino, Fort Bragg and Point Arena high school seniors who plan to attend four-year colleges or universities to study the performing arts (music, dance, theatre, film, and puppetry) and design (sound, lighting, costume, and set).  Awardees are selected for their potential for career success in the performing arts and their prior academic performance (a minimum 3.0 grade point average is desired but not required). 

Requirements:  A 2024 Community Foundation application, including a high school or college transcript, two letters of recommendation from drama/music/film instructors or teachers, a performing arts resume, and a sample of the student’s performing art (2 to 3 minutes) or design, especially if it cannot be presented in an interview.
