Alma and August Mendosa Vocational Scholarship

Description:   Student must be eager and prepared to enter a vocational of trade school.  A 2.5GPA is preferred. Amount: $4,000 over two years ($2,000/year). See attachment below for further details.

Created by Marilyn Herzog in honor of her aunt and uncle as a memorial to Alma Mendosa’s 47-year career as a Mendocino educator, this scholarship is for Mendocino High School and Mendocino Community High School Seniors who plan to attend an accredited vocational school, apprenticeship program or community college. Awardees are selected for their eagerness and preparedness to enter a vocation or trade, the recommendation from instructors, employer, or field professional, and their financial need. A 2.5 GPA or better is preferred.

Amount: $4,000 over two years ($2,000/year)

Requirements:  A 2024 Community Foundation online application, a high school transcript, and two letters of recommendation from instructors, community members or employers.
