Public Meeting Notice 407 Transitway: Kennedy Road to Brock Road

Post date: Apr 14, 2015 1:37:53 AM

The LCRA recently received word of a Ministry of Transportation study regarding the creation of the 407 Transitway segment stretching from Kennedy Road to Brock Road. This will consist of dedicated bus lanes to be built alongside the 407 ETR, presumably on the more open south side. The lanes would presumably include bus stations and transit hubs along the way.

The Legacy concern, of course, is the placement of those bus lanes and corresponding transit hubs, and the impact they may have on the undeveloped northern portion of the Legacy neighborhood. ANY incorporation of access directly to a transit hub from the Legacy neighborhood could dramatically affect traffic and parking patterns in our otherwise secluded neighborhood.

It is important that we stay informed as this project moves along, and ensure that our interests are represented appropriately at the City and Region level. Information sessions will be taking place on April 15, 2015 and April 16, 2015 (see linked materials below).

Please review the materials linked below. The LCRA will be keeping an eye on this as things move along. We’d welcome any support you have to offer, by attending the information sessions, submitting fact-filled articles for Legacy Voice publication, etc. Drop us a line at co-chair@legacynet.ca if you have any questions or comments.
