Legacy's Second Annual Winter Clothing Drive

This year it will be a little different. We have two charities with different needs. We are accepting men's and women's clothing, and like last year, your gently used winter coats, boots, gloves and snow pants. More details follow below.

To make donating easy, we will collect your winter clothing right here in Legacy, and get it into the hands of our reputable charities for distrubtion to those in need.

Drop Off Location:

2 Juneberry Ave (near Legacy/Russell Jarvis)

Drop Off Times and Dates:

Wednesday November 22. 6:00-9:00 pm

Thursday November 23, 6:00-9:00 pm

Friday November 24, 6:00-9:00 pm

Saturday November 25, 1:00-5:00 pm

The LCRA is proud to be leading the way into the holiday and winter season with our winter clothing drive. At the dates/times/location above, our event coordinators will be collecting your gently used goods. Our two charities have different needs, please see below for more information:

We will be collecting men's and women's clothing for the local Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold Program and Rouge Valley Mennonite Church in Markham. We will be accepting nicer clothing that will assist the homeless in getting off the street. Please contribute jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, warm parkas, backpacks, boots and brand new gloves, socks and underwear.

And as we did last year, we will be providing winter clothing donations (including children’s gear) to Blue Door Shelters. Items include winter coats, winter snow pants, boots and gloves/mittens. Please ensure that all of the items are clean and usable, and limited to the items on the list above (specifically we will not be able to accept hats or scarves).

For more information, please contact us at donations@legacynet.ca.

The LCRA thanks all the participants, in advance, in yet another community event sponsored by the LCRA – ‘By the Community for the Community’. Participants are reminded and encouraged to join as members of the LCRA. If you would like to become a member of the LCRA, please go to Membership on our website at www.LegacyNet.ca on how to join. For the small fee of $20 per household and a few minutes to fill out a membership form, you can make difference to your community.
