DoE Compliance - Clarification of the fees collection for year 2020-2021 & 2021-2022

Fee's Hike Clarification

1) DoE has granted the school only 15% hike in the Tuition fee w.e.f 1st April 2020 vide its Order No.F.DE/15(63)/PSB/2020/1691-1694 dated 3/03/2020 in response to the fee hike proposal @ 30% for the year 2019-2020 submitted by the school.(The resolution for 30% hike was signed by the PTA EC body in their meeting held on 19th December 2019).

2)      The last time the School hiked its fee was in year 2015-2016, Since then there has been no fee hike.

3)   The School’s fee hike proposals submitted by school were rejected by the DoE for years, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 i.e. for three years.

4)   The recommendations of 7thCPC was announced in July 2016 to be implemented w.e.f January 2016. But because of shortage of funds and in absence of any fee hike granted by the DoE, the school could not implement the 7thCPC recommendations.

5)   The School’s Management considering the Covid 19 pandemic took a sympathetic and compassionate approach and decided not to implement the fee hike order during the session April 2020 to March 2021.

6)   The School’s Managing Committee in its meeting held on 26th February, wherein the DE nominee was also present, passed the following resolutions:

a) To implement the above stated fee hike order w.e.f 1st April 2021

b) To charge the difference in fee for 15% hike from April 2020 to March 2021 on monthly basis in equal instalments w.e.f July 2021 onwards.

c) To implement the 7th CPC recommendations and pay the salaries to its staff as per 7th CPC w.e.f. April 2021 onwards.

7)      Subsequent to the SMC meeting the meeting of PTA EC Body was held on 26thMarch 2021, where the important clauses of the fee hike order were discussed. The PTA members were apprised about the critical financial position of the school and they were informed that school was finding it difficult to pay salaries to its staff even @ 6thCPC.

8)    The PTA EC body members passed a resolution to implement the 15% hike in Tuition fee (increase of Rs.677/Rs.700 p.m.) as granted by the DoE, w.e.f April 2021.

9)      Since April 2020, as per DoE orders issued from time to time, the School has only charged Tuition fee from students on a monthly basis. No Annual charges and Development fee have been charged since April 2020 from any student.

10)  Despite the school charging only the Tuition fee on a monthly basis since April 2020, more than 25% parents have always been defaulters resulting in delay of payments of salaries to the staff, which was mostly paid by 20th and beyond of the next month.

11)  As part of the compliance of the fee hike order by DoE, the school shall implement the recommendations of the 7th CPC and pay salaries to its staff accordingly for which the School’s staff has waited patiently since July 2016 onwards, for more than 5 years.

The parents are requested to realize the critical condition faced by the school and are requested to kindly cooperate with the school in mutual interest.

Warm regards
