Anti-Tobacco Campaign

Empowering Minds, Eradicating Tobacco

School ID: 1923249

Tobacco, a seemingly innocuous plant, has entrenched itself as one of the most perilous threats to public health, especially in today's generation. The contemporary world grapples with the multifaceted harms of tobacco, from traditional cigarettes to emerging electronic variants.

In a fervent pursuit of promoting a healthier future, Laxman Public School proudly hosted its Anti-Tobacco Campaign Week, a week where enlightenment reigned supreme. This immersive initiative was designed to sensitize students about the detrimental effects of tobacco use, and it left an indelible mark on our school community.

Poster Making Competition: The creative talents of our students shone brightly as they delved into the theme "Tobacco: The Silent Killer." The results were nothing short of captivating. The posters they crafted were vivid, thought-provoking, and served as powerful visual reminders of the dangers that lurk in every cigarette.

Nukkad Natak (Street Play): The drama club took center stage to perform a compelling skit that vividly portrayed how tobacco infiltrates and disrupts the lives of individuals. Their performance underscored how the allure of tobacco often entices the younger generation through friends and social media, and the dire consequences of passive smoking.

Special Assembly: October 31, 2023, our entire school gathered for a special assembly. During the assembly, we were honored to have Ms. Upasana Khatri, Counsellor in Charge of District South, as our distinguished guest. Ms. Khatri's expertise in Life Skills and Mental Health, acquired through on-the-job training by esteemed institutions such as the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, EVGB, Fortis, and AIIMS, is a testament to her commitment to student well-being. Her contributions were further recognized when she was awarded as one of the top 10 master trainers by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2022.

Students passionately delivered declamations that stirred the hearts of all present, reinforcing our collective commitment to a tobacco-free environment. A pledge was taken by the entire school community, an oath to combat the tobacco epidemic. Certificates were awarded to the brightest minds who excelled in the poster making competition, the enthralling nukkad natak, and the moving declamations.

School Boards: To maintain a constant reminder, several boards bearing anti-tobacco messages were strategically placed throughout our school campus. In the event of any concerns, students were equipped with contact information for school authorities.

This Anti-Tobacco Campaign Week was not just an event; it was a movement that ignited awareness, fostered unity, and ignited the spark of change.
