Laxman Public School organised the workshop on "Footprints in Cyberspace: Crafting Your Online Identity" was conducted by for Class X students on 8th April 2024 by the school counsellor Ms. Dimple Vij, to raise awareness about the significance of their online presence and empower them to make informed decisions regarding their digital footprint. With the pervasive influence of social media and online platforms, it is crucial for adolescents to understand the implications of their online behaviour on their personal and professional lives.

The workshop commenced with an overview of the concept of digital footprint, emphasizing how every online interaction leaves a trace that contributes to one's digital identity. Real-life examples were shared to illustrate the permanence and reach of digital footprints.

Practical tips and strategies were provided to help students safeguard their privacy and security online. Topics covered included adjusting privacy settings on social media, recognizing online threats, and practicing safe browsing habits.

Through group discussions students brainstormed ways to cultivate a positive and authentic online persona. They explored the importance of sharing meaningful content, engaging with others respectfully, and portraying themselves in a manner aligned with their values and goals.

Case studies and scenarios were presented to illustrate the potential consequences of irresponsible online behaviour, such as cyberbullying, reputation damage, and negative impact on future opportunities. Students were encouraged to think critically about the implications of their actions online.

The workshop concluded with a discussion on the responsibilities of digital citizenship. Students were reminded of their role in contributing to a safe, inclusive, and ethical online community. They pledged to uphold values of respect, empathy, and integrity in their online interactions.
