Download and extract the latest version of the software. After extracting the folder, run setup.exe and follow the installation. You may not be able to run the software until you install the NanoZ drivers.
Plug in the nanoZ. On Windows 7, cancel the automatic search for the driver and open the Device Manager by searching for it in the start menu or by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (under "Devices and Printers"). Locate the nanoZ in the list, right click and select Update Driver Software. Select the option Browse my computer for driver software and navigate to the extracted folder that contains the nanoZ installation files. There should be a folder named Drivers -- select this location and click Next. Windows will locate the driver in this folder and will install it.
On Windows 10, the above method doesn't necessarily work. However, when the nanoZ is plugged into the computer, Windows 10 should be successful in locating and installing the driver automatically.
The configuration for our EIBs is not included in the software by default, so an updated electrodes file is needed to add it. The updated electrodes.ini file can be found in Dropbox > Documentation > NanoZ. This file will need to replace the default electrodes.ini file for the nanoZ.
The default electrodes.ini file can be found at C: > Users > YOURUSER > AppData > Local > nanoZ. However, the AppData folder is hidden by default, so you may not find it at first. To show hidden folders, search for and open Folder Options in the start menu and navigate to the View tab. (You can also get here by going to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Folder Options > Show hidden files and folders.) Under advanced settings, locate the list item Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and press OK. Now the AppData folder should appear in your user folder -- the folder icon will be faded to indicate it is a hidden folder. Rename the old electrodes file to electrodes.ini.bak and copy and paste the new file into the folder. Now when opening nanoZ, the WM EIB will be an option. If it isn't immediately visible, go to File > Reload definitions to refresh the file.
