ABSTRACT:
The circuit organization of the brain is perhaps the most exceptional principal regarding its anatomical structure. However, the biggest complication when attempting to exploit and explore these circuits is visibility. The density of networks within a given neuronal region is so immense that it becomes nearly impossible to distinguish one from another. The most commonly used method for venturing into the discipline of fluorescently labeling specific neuronal circuits are neuronal tracers. There are many options when it comes to a compound that poses the appropriate characteristics for labeling the connections between brain regions so for this reason the chosen tracer must be adequate depending on how far and where one is trying to label fluorescently.
