The central and peripheral nervous systems (CNS and PNS) are responsible for processing sensory information which trigger responsible motor signals, as well as transmission of impulses between the CNS and peripheral organs. Neurologic diseases have a variety of causes, in come cases simple nutrient deficiencies and in others more complex consequences of nutrition. These diseases have both primary and secondary nutrition implications that require the expertise and support of the RD and the health care team.
