- Be familiar with the complications of rheumatic disease and how those complications can effect nutritional needs.
Rheumatic diseases have a variety of manifestations of inflammation that lead to decreased function of connective tissue. While there is no one cause or cure identified, pharmacotherapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and medical nutrition therapy are modalities to manage symptoms.
