Using Mass Spec to study a dolphin's breath to assess their health

Interesting application of Mass Spec to study dolphin breath. Apparently dolphins that were exposed to oil spills (e.g. Deepwater Horizon accident) become sick and have chemicals in their breath that healthy dolphins do not normally have. The breath is collected through the dolphin's blowhole and then analyzed by Mass Spec to detect those "marker" compounds for disease.
