After building the model truss and learning about the forces acting on a bridge, we were told to design our own bridge using West Point Bridge Designer 2016. The catch was that we had to do it for the lowest price. Although I tried 5 different bridge designs and my last design had 77 iterations, I finally brought the price down to $175,850.09. Here is a photo of what my final bridge looked like:

What I liked about the software:
I thought that the software was very user friendly and served as a good first bridge simulator. I enjoyed how they provided sample designs because it gave me a good place to start. When you played the simulation, each member turned either blue or red depending on whether it was under tension or compression, which was also helpful.
What I disliked about the software:
There was nothing major that I didn't like about the software. However, it was important to make sure you were using the 2016 version and not the 2014 version.
