AWT08: 15-24/07/2018

NOTES

This, the 8th trip in 7 years, was a chance to slow down the frantic search for locations and actually fully enjoy the Skåne scenery. Slowing down was easy with the weather being so hot, but I still managed a few location visits. Season 1 locations celebrtae 10 years since filming, but changes are few and mostly cosmetic.

ACCOMMODATION

#1: We return to AWT 07's "#2: Large cozy apartment in central Ystad (7 nights, via Airbnb.co.uk): This apartment is literally 10 mins walk from the centre of Ystad. It is enormous - much bigger than the listing suggests - with all the domestic appliances you could need."

It is one of our favourite places to stay in all our trips to the area.

#2: Hotell Gäslingen We like a good spa hotel and this is a great one. Having visited Skanör-Falsterbo many times (usually on our way back to the airport) we thought we'd stay over for a couple of days this time.

OTHER

YSTAD STUDIOS VISITOR CENTER (Formerly CINETEKET)

My man Jack Löfving, with Petra Rundqvist and the rest of the crew, has done a great job of turning the once smaller Cineteket experience into something wonderful. Now across the road from the old Cineteket building YSVC occupies one of the three sound stages at Ystad Studios. Altogether it is a much bigger and better experience, and a must-visit on any trip to Ystad.
