Gary Sebastain’s “Wabi Sabi” Sailboat - The boat is a Catspaw dinghy designed by Joel White in 1978 as a bigger version of N. G. Herreshoffs "Columbia life boat" designed in 1899. The builder and year are unknown as it was found abandoned in the woods near Lake Granbury in 2016. It is 12' long 4'-5" beam. Construction is double strip planked. It is a spirit sail rig with 65 sq ft of sail. The name is on the back "Wabi Sabi". It is in unrestored original condition. The definition of "wabi sabi" is an aesthetic of beauty that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. When you see this boat, you will understand it's name.
