2016 Rum Runner/Poker Run Event held back on June 11th, 2016

The Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club Rum Runner Event/Poker Run/ Pirate Cruise held on June 11th, 2016 was a great success. 50 people showed up ready to take over lake establishments and sample their best appatizer and rum runner shot. If you saw a bunch of pirates on the lake and at the lake establishments they were apart of this event. This excursion started and at the Fort Worth Boat Club and ended @ the Fort Worth Boat Club. The first stop along the way was Flight which served a fabulous Crab Cake appatizer and a fabulous rum runner drink served up by the best bartender "Jessie". Then it was off the Boon-Docks and then to West Bay Marina. Captains got a free wild card which didn't help me out unfortunately. A $250.00 prize was handed out for best costume. The winner of that prize is below.

As you can see by this picture these pirates came prepared and ready to rock the lake. pictured from left to right: Wanda Spriggs, Linda Elliot, Trudi Free, Mark Tresnicky, Cyndi Herbig, Julie Backiel.

From L -R, Andy Butchard(Vice-President of the Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club). Wayne Chester who won the best poker hand with a high straight. Notice how surprised he was. Captain Hook should have hooked that money. Wayne commented that he'll use the money to fix his Spanish Gallion. Skip Bethea to right had to walk the plank after this picture was taken because he didn't see the movie Pirates of the Carribbean. A no no amongst pirates.

The winner for best rum runner and best appatizer went to Walter Covington pictured here and ReAnne Knickrehm of West Bay Marina. Walter couldn't wait to put these winning plaques up on the wall but he didn't have a hammer or nails.
