2017 Tiki Torch/Pirate Poker Run held back in July 2017

Somewhat of a tradition now for the Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club is our annual poker run. Turnout was good amongst the members with their guests. Our poker run lake restaurants couldn't have been more gracious, prepared and ready for us. A big thank you goes out to: West Bay Marina; Twisted Oar; Flight on Eagle Mountain Lake and our host spot the Fort Worth Boat Club. The service was impeccable at all these stops. It was a very close call in the voting for the best drink and appetizer. A big thank you goes out to our chief organizers, Wanda Spriggs & Cyndi Herbig. They are an unstoppable team when it comes to planning & executing our events. Your president appreciates your time and dedication. Many thanks go out to participating boat captains on this journey such as: Bennett Loftin; Trey Tabor; Trey Bull; Jason Dyer; Sarah Francis; Sharon Munson; Paul Ruhl. We couldn't have done it without your boats. 1st mates should also be recognized for your efforts such as: Gary "Spanky" McGinnity; Leon Campbell; Skip Bethea; Wanda Spriggs; Trudi Free; Cyndi Herbig & Sharon Munson's crew.

Congratulations go out to Walter Covington & ReAnne

of West Bay Marina for winning for best appetizer and

Paul & Laura Gale of Twisted Oar for winning for best drink. Our club has spoken. It was really close on all voting fronts. Trey Tabor & Jason Dyer tied for the winning poker hand. Rumor has it Trey Tabor went donated his earnings to the bottom of the lake and Jason Dyer donated his earnings to a lady in distress on a Baja. Those two just keep giving back to the lake.

The set up for the poker run done by our officers, Wanda Spriggs & Cyndi Herbig.

Cyndi Herbig our dealer. She knows how to cut cards along with honrery pirates. She's making sure all is fare.

Enrollment is under way.

Gary "Spanky" McGinnity @ West Bay Marina enjoying the winning appetizer. He loves their jalapeño onion rings.

The next stop on the journey was Twisted Oar which was formally Boon-Docks when we rolled in here last year. Seated at the table were Kim Carpenter, Jennifer Giles, Margo Brian, & Lisa Baisden who by now have gotten away with not having to walk the plank.

Now, how did this band of pirates slip into this poker run? Wanda Spriggs & Trudi Free are on the very front(bow) of the boat looking for a new world to conquer. Trey Tabor's boat went around collecting every pirate on the lake that day, LOL.

Miss Ginny breaking off and trying to overtake the "Classy Lady"

Yes we had help on this poker run by Jason Dyer a.k.a. Captain Bligh & Sarah Francis. Sorry Jason that you were a card short in beating Trey Tabor's poker hand. But you and Sara were winners in making sure the armada got to every stop on the lake. They even managed to take a couple of tow calls along the journey and still managed to beat us at every stop.

It wouldn't have been a poker-run without this go fast boat. EMCBC Members: Bennett & Cassie Loftin would never miss a poker run event.

John Paul Tabor & Trey Tabor - Trey Tabor fished his son out of the Davey Jones locker so he could attend this event.

Our third stop at Flight on Eagle Mountain Lake.

Courtney & Bennett Loftin. Bennett is trying to say, " a pirate day is always a good day out on Eagle Mountain Lake." At the end of the poker run Bennett Loftin(pictured in the orange shirt) had to walk the plank for having a extra large time.

Cyndi Herbig and her daughter. Cyndi's daughter had to walk the plank at the end of the day but was saved by Paul Ruhl. Pictured below. I appointed Paul in charge of saving danzals in distress. A job well done Paul.
