The Rest of the Season

After returning from our sunny 6 day Georgia Cycling Clinic, and as the halfway point in the season draws near, I've come to realize that my decision to commit to every race this season was probably the best decision of my college experience. I probably won't get a chance like this again - traveling across the midwest for nickels, getting to know the team better and riding with a few hundred cycling enthusiasts at races. I may not be anywhere near the fastest rider out there, but I am probably having the most fun. To me the races aren't serious, I know that I probably won't get a podium this year, but that doesn't bother me. Its the feelings before, during and after the races that make everything worthwhile - like being so nervous at the start line that you think your going to piss yourself, or your heart pounding as you descend a hill over 35mph sitting on your top tube, or being so wrecked after a hard race that you think the earth is shaking. You would think it would be, but the lack of free time isn't missed. I still have time for school and a social life, even with my precious weekends being filled with cycling.

Take it from me. Its my last year at IIT and if I could do it all again, I would have committed years ago. There's no better time to start than right now.

Hop on and hit the road
