Michigan Race Report - Waylon

I think we all had a good time this weekend especially after I annihilated Ian with my monster kicks sleeping both nights. Also after Ian, mark, and myself slept in luxury while getting the king suite.

The road race Saturday was fun with me following Scott on an early attack about 2 miles into the 53 mile road race. Surprisingly it stuck after catching a Lindsey Wilson rider then being joined by a lindenwood and Greg Christian from Michigan state who would take the win for the day. Will nowak bridged up as well with two other guys.

We continued to work together for the following 10 laps (I forget when who joined on what lap). With two to go the attacks ensued that ultimately ensured my demise off the back of the break. Thanks to fruends and bo's link to the Jen voigt videos I took his advice and told my legs to shutup and did the last two laps solo not allowing anyone to catch me which I was extremely worried about.

The crit was alright, it was pretty aggressive from the gun. I got in a break for a few laps which seemed like it could have worked but people weren't working together well enough and got reeled in a few laps later. A break did end up going from the counter attack when we got brought back that did stick but the rest came down to a field sprint that was rather chaotic. I'm not sure how I ended up but definitely did not pull out a good sprint.

After much debate it was unwillingly decided to go to bells something cafe in Kalamazoo over the typical chain restaurant we tend to go to. They apparently brew their own beer there but I'm calling shenanigans. Some garden in the back is no proof of this. They simply rename it.

I was looking forward to an extremely juicy meaty three pound Burger but was highly let down when I saw no such thing on the menu. I had to settle for a delicious pulled pork sandwich, toasted pb&j, and a pretzel. While I was plowing down my food, everyone else resumed to get sloshed on renamed beer.

All in all it was a fun weekend. I'm looking forward to Purdue next weekend.
