Marian Race Report - Waylon

The shenanigans started Friday afternoon after Mark took his sweet 'ol time getting back into the city thus hitting traffic. We hit the road back to my place around 230 to pick up my old bike so we could set hit up on it. We did so and then went for a easy pre-race ride around my house. Getting back to my place my dad had made us dinner which included pasta, burgers, naners, cake (for mark) and I forget what else. No less than an hour later on our ride down to Indy we were hungry again so we proceeded to stop at Arby's and mark wolfs down a monster beef sandwich and jalapeno poppers (which looked disgusting).

We made it to the hotel around 11 central time and made it into the room where we perceived it to be a massive sausage fest with nine guys in one room. The whole issue is we have a rather low guy to girl ratio, 9:0. We decided that instead of trying to get more guys racing, we need some sort of groupies. I think this is going into the budget next year, a 3:1 ratio girls-to-guys should do quite well. This may also bring the percentage of girls up on campus. We may be able to lower the 75% guys on campus down to 74%.

Now to the race, it was about a mile loop with a slight climb up one side and then a twisty(ish) backside. 60 minutes plus a lap or so. Everything seemed to be going quite well, I was cramping a bit but finally felt better around the 45 minute mark. I really regret not jumping early on the last lap but I wussed out and proceeded to get boxed in the sprint and falling backwards rather quickly. We were sprinting for 5th and I (think) I finished somewhere around 15th.

Who is doing Michigan?
