Lindenwood/Regionals Recap -Brian

The weather Saturday decided to have some fun during the start of the team time trial with a bit of light mist and significant wind. We lined up at the start and watched the team before us start into the wind and worked well enough together that once we returned we had made up the time gap. Ian and Peter crossed the line together narrowly in front of the riders from the other team to stop the clock for our team. The weather cleared up a bit for the road race a few hours later. The road course was a bit over 20 miles and contained two hills that split things up quite quickly. I managed to stay at the front with Ian over the first climb and realized that the group had completely fallen apart by that point. I was dropped by the second climb and stayed with a small group until the finish to land 14th place.

The crit Sunday had beautiful weather and a great location. The course was 1km long and featured some brick sections and two rather sharp corners. After the usual sticking with the lead group for the first half I fell off and worked with a group to keep from getting lapped until the second to last lap. A bit of confusion as to who was and wasn't a lap down made for some interesting wheels to hold/drag and a rather odd finish. We stayed to watch some of the other races (something we rarely make time for) and were able to watch some rather exciting finishes.
