You (Parents) are the key to your child's Success in the Music Program!

 Your child's success in the Instrumental Program at Hale depends on you! 

Are you engaged in the following:

1) Encouraging your child to practice on a regular basis?

2) Renting or purchasing a quality brand name instrument?

3) Enrolling in private music lessons for your child?

4) Volunteering at music department events such as field trips or concerts?

5) Donating or helping with fundraising? 

Be engaged and involved in your child's music education! It's worth it. 

Check Schoology Everyday

All correspondence/messages and assignments will be sent via email or on Schoology. Please make sure your email is current with your child's Schology account. 

After School Instrument Pickup

 Out of respect to our administrators, and evening custodial staff, the latest time to pick up instruments after school is 3:30PM or until Mr. Cruz leaves campus. Requests made to custodial staff or administration may not be granted. 

Jazz Band - Morning Drop Off

There is no student drop off in the parking lot. Student drop off must be on the sidewalk in front of the Main Office entrance. The side gate near the PE area will not be open. 

About materials and Online Resources

If issues or concerns arise regarding the acquisition of online materials or printing online materials, or if obtaining suggested materials is or becomes a financial burden, please speak with Mr. Cruz immediately or submit a handwritten note. All situations are confidential, and a solution to meet your child's needs will be found. 

Common Reasons Why Students Do Not Succeed in Band or Orchestra Classes

1.     Poor attendance – every rehearsal and practice is important.

2.     Not organized. Forgetful with materials, equipment.

3.     No time management

4.     Does not practice instrument at home daily or on a regular basis.

5.     Talks too much during class, does not listen to teacher.

6.     Does not maximize class time during practices or rehearsals. Distracted.

7.     Failure to follow all classroom expectations

8.     Missing the concert performances.

9.     Does not ask for help.
