Homework expectations – Practicing

Your homework is to practice your instrument!

Instrumental music members who do not practice their instrument daily will most likely fall behind and earn an undesirable grade. In the past, students who do not practice are most likely to get a grade of C or lower on the report card. Students who do not practice daily come to class less confident, and less willing to play and learn new content. Practicing daily makes rehearsals and practices more focused, fun, and productive for your self and fun for everyone.

Practicing Daily + Good Information is Reinforced +You Retain Information Longer = MORE FUN!

In addition to practicing your instrument on a regular basis…

• All Students must submit a weekly practice time sheet signed by a parent or guardian.

• Beginning Band and Beginning Orchestra will have 1 worksheet assignment per week. Expect at least 2-5 writing assignments per semester.

• Advanced Band and Orchestra should expect 3-7 writing assignments per semester.

As always...

Any unfinished classwork becomes homework.
