The August luncheon is cancelled.
Over 25 members indicated they were uncomfortable with attending. I hope to see all of you at our meeting, the end of September!

The April meetings of the BVGC is
Cancelled
Given the uncertainty of the near future we are cancelling monthly meetings. An email has been sent to members about the following: the recommended slate of officers, the by-laws that have been updated, the minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer's report. Please respond as directed in the email if you have any concerns. If no objections or only a few are raised within the next 30 days, it will be recorded that all are approved.
Field Trip Scheduled in May is

A crowded bus trip and visiting a public arena does not seem to be in the best interest for the health of our members.
Spring Plant Sale
The Bella Vista Garden Club will hold a
Virtual Spring Plant Sale
Only annual plants, tomatoes, and potted containers will be available.
Additional information on the website and beginning date are still in the planning stages. The sale of the plants will occur over time and not be limited to one day.
Watch for Additional Info by Mid-April
Our remaining plants, primarily perennials, will be offered for sale at a later date.
Scholarships
Due to anticipated reduction in available revenues, none will be awarded this year.
June luncheon and Garden Extravaganza
These events are still a good two months away so there is some time to determine the best course of action.
I understand that I am asking you to conduct our business in a different manner. It is my sincerest hope that given the above actions we will be able to continue as a vibrant club that cares deeply for each other and our community.

The next meeting of the BVGC which was scheduled for March 25th is
Cancelled
Given the uncertainty of the near future we are cancelling our March monthly meeting. I will be sending you the updated by-laws by e-mail and the slate of proposed officers in the next few days.
At this point we are moving ahead with planning for the spring plant sale, the June luncheon, and the Garden Extravaganza. Only time will tell if any is feasible but with all of our efforts to mitigate the spread we can remain hopeful that life will return to normal. Even though business as usual is interrupted this is a club that cares for one another. I am certain with all of the strong friendships in this club that each member who needs some assistance can call on any other member.
Please abide by our medical experts recommendations, stay strong, watch old movies, read and pray. I actually am doing some deep house cleaning since my housekeeper is compromised and there is now time!

Card Party Postponed
Out of concern for the health of all participants given the spread of Covid-19, the Bella Vista Garden Club is postponing its Benefit Card Party scheduled for Friday, March 20th. A new date will be established as soon as circumstances permit.
Since we plan to reschedule as soon as it is safe to hold this event, we will not be issuing refunds at this time. Payment checks not yet deposited will simply be held. If you have any questions regarding the postponement you may refer to the Bella Vista Garden Club website for future updates or call Judy Jeffrey at 515-371-0701.
