Native Bed at Wastewater Dedicated to Lou Jasper

August 18, 2022

Club Members gathered on a misty morning as Joel Miller unveiled the plaque dedicating the Club's recently created Native Bed to Lou Jasper. Lou was instrumental in advising the club about this native bed and is a treasured member for her knowledge and her great personality. Geri Hoerner related some humorous stories about Lou and a newspaper reporter took photos and interviewed Lou for an article.

New Project - Native Plants Garden Bed

This project is chaired by Plant Sale Chairman, Joel Miller. It is an area in front of the greenhouse where the committee works on the Plant Sales. The Waste Water Treatment Plant is allowing the Club to use the area to make a garden showcasing native plants. It will feature stepping stones to allow people to walk into the area. It is mainly a learning garden but eventually some of the plants will be for sale at future Garden Club Plant Sales.

Cathy Downard reports that our native bed is thriving! If you haven't seen it yet, you need to. Just watch out for the killdeer nest on the ground near the bench. They are very protective!
