In-class support
Two teachers are arranged to teach the same class if Chinese and non-Chinese students have lessons together, so non-Chinese students can learn more efficiently and adapt to the Cantonese environment gradually with the explanation and demonstration from the collaborative teacher.
Individual learning
One-on-one support is given to non-Chinese students to cater to the differences in learning pace. Extra language learning classes are provided according to students’ learning plans and abilities.
Group learning
Group lessons are arranged according to students’ abilities, so they can learn through conversation and interactions with others. Task-based and scenario-based teaching are adopted to strengthen students’ flexibility in using Cantonese.
Activities for non-Chinese parents
Workshops and interest groups are held for non-Chinese parents to develop parents’ hobbies and thus relieve their stresses. Timely information on education, the school, and community resources are also provided to build a supportive network among parents. Irregular gatherings are also organised to strengthen and expand their social networks.
