Supports teachers, parents, and other professional staff in developing whole-school policies to provide a suitable learning environment for students through psychological theories and research.
Direct service
Provides psycho-educational assessment for students;
Provides suggestions and devises appropriate support plans for students after assessment (e.g. individual/ group training, study pathways upon graduation, etc.);
Provides intervention and devises suitable training for students with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Consultation and support service
Provides consultation services for teachers, relevant professionals, and parents on handling students’ emotional and behavioural difficulties through case conferences;
Provides professional advice to teachers on measures to enhance learning and teaching (e.g. classroom management skills, reward system, creative teaching, enhancing learning motivation, etc.);
Devises, implements, and reviews Individualized Educational Programme (IEP) for students in need in collaboration with teachers and parents;
Provides counselling service for parents (e.g. supporting students with behavioural difficulties, parent-child relationship, etc.) and delivers workshops or talks;
Conducts professional development activities to equip school staff with professional knowledge and skills;
Provides professional advice on the planning and reviewing of school-based curriculum (e.g. resource teaching for students with Autism, curriculum tailoring, Independent Skills curriculum, new senior secondary curriculum, sex education, etc.);
Handles school crises and offers immediate remediation and support.
