The curriculum aims at building up students’ ability in self-care, cooperation, and basic life skills so that students can look after themselves for future independent life.
The curriculum is based on skills training in different periods, e.g. in self-care lessons and daily routines. Daily routines consist of three periods, including the first period of the day (Routine 1), lunch, and the last period of the day (Routine 2).
The curriculum includes two learning domains, self-care, and life skills as follows:
Drinking
Personal hygiene
Safety within and outside the school
Living skills
Putting on and taking off clothes
Toileting
Putonghua
English
Writing
Communication and social interaction
Leisure and habit
