The school-based curriculum acts in concern with the overall education direction and school vision to develop whole-person education. The curriculum also cultivates students’ generic skills, and positive values and attitudes to enhance their personal qualities. To build a solid foundation of life-long learning and working, the curriculum aims to:
Stimulate the interest of students in the learning of mathematics;
Develop students’ understanding and acquisition of basic mathematical concepts and computational skills;
Develop students’ ability to think critically and creatively, to conceptualize, inquire and reason mathematically;
Cultivate students’ generic skills, including numeracy skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, problem-solving skills, creativity, etc.
Develop students’ number sense, symbol sense, spatial sense, and a sense of measurement as well as the capability of appreciating structures and patterns;
Develop students’ positive attitude towards mathematics learning and the capability of appreciating the aesthetic nature and cultural aspect of mathematics;
