Purpose: Explore pinching a sculpture, texturing slabs, and utilizing glaze techniques
Reflection:Â
I think that the bird was difficult, it was our first thing we started on and I had little/no prior knowledge of how to accurately be able to form something well with clay. I tried to make it look well, and give it a nice tail, but that seemed to be my downfall since it cracked a lot. Also my patterns were nice, they could be a little deep for some people, but I think since it was yellow it made it look nicer. The tile was very easy in my opinion, it was easy to make, and the colors (although not my first choice) came out well. I tried to give it a nice and simple look, making itan uneven pattern. I think making it uneven it more appealing and having something so sorted all the time can get annoying.
I did not know I wasn't supposed to use yellow on my bird, sinceit's too light, giving me 1 option for my real color, a white. I think it , but I never got to test the other actual color combos out. For my tray, I wanted a light gray , but the glaze I wanted I couldn't use, so I settled for a darker gray instead of the lighter gray glaze. It turned out alright, A little boring though.
