I am most proud of my observational drawing. I think I followed then instructions well, and it looked pretty nice at the end. We had a quite funky set up for our observational drawing, and my first thought was to just go straight at it, and I followed that ideology until one day when we were doing the small drawing of the set-up and sharing. I saw that understanding the piece and actually putting effort into it makes it look better, as that is the one that got more tally marks. From then on, I made sure to take plenty of time to make sure I got a good enough drawing. In my opinion, I did not surprise myself, only because I usually practice drawing, but never still-life set-ups. I think if this was more in my domain of art skills, I could have done better. When I make something I am proud of, I take the next assignment to do better. I can not just be a one hit wonder, so I have to one up myself and do even better.Â
One of the two most informative things about this course was the perspective short in class practices we did. I am most definitely sure I have used perspectives before, but never two point perspective. I think the practice with two point perspective will help me in future art projects. The second most informative thing was the early drawing in class practices we did, with the upside down drawing and all that stuff. I think having the ability to be able to translate what you see to what you draw is easily one of the best if not the best ability we learned this semester.
My goal is to learn more about art, and to get more creative and expressive with my art.
