Purposes:
To continue to look at and see things in a unique way
To strengthen problem-solving skills by capturing reflections...in mirrors, on glass, on metal, in water…
As I was circling a pond to photograph reflections, I saw that the pond reflected a house and lampost near the house. I thought that it created the illusion of a second house below the grass, and the lampost extended through the ground to act as a sort of fireman's pole to access the house below.
I wanted to get some photos of reflections without using water, and I decided that I would use a mirror that we had been keeping in out basement for a while. This is one of the shots I took using the mirror, and I think the combination of reflections and background simplified made this a very interesting photo.
There were two creeks in the woods that I took pictures of, and this one had the highest water level. One thing I found out about photographing the creek was that the lighting had to be perfect; to bright and it would shine through to the bottom, to dark and it wouldn't reflect the trees above. This shot had the best lighting of the ones I took, and I think the end product was the best of my creek photos.
