What things inspire you to take photographs?
Before taking Photo 1, I said that there was a variety of specific things that inspired me to take photographs. However, after several photo walks and bi-weekly photography assignments, I can say that just about anything can create enough inspiration for me to take a photograph, whether it be the things I mentioned before (like family and pets), or things in nature such as plants, water, and animals. Sometimes, I'll even have an idea come to me and intentionally set up an environment to take a photo, like what I did in the levitation and shadows assignments.
What do you hope to learn/improve upon in photography this year?
Before taking Photo 1, I said that I wanted to learn how to give shots proper lighting, use a DSLR camera, and learn more about Photoshop. I can now say that I've been able to achieve all three of these goals. I've learned how cameras like the DSLR work, and have been able to use my knowledge of concepts like ISO and shutter speed to give my shots proper lighting. As for Photoshop, I've definitely learned several new concepts, such as how to make images black and white and how to Photoshop two images together. I've also furthered my knowledge of various tools I had learned about in Graphic Design I, such as quick mask mode and the quick selection tool.
Looking forward, I will use my knowledge of Photography to photograph more photos of various moments throughout my life, and I will use my knowledge of Photoshop skills to edit photos to improve their quality and add additional interesting aspects to them. Photo I was quite an enjoyable class, and I can't wait to use the knowledge I've gained to take improved photos in the future.
