Purposes:
To use shadows to enhance your artwork; tell a story; or even interact with your viewer;
To create your own "shadow" photography by setting up items to photograph, going outside and looking for natural shadows in the world, allowing someone to interact with the shadow, or even allowing the shadow to interact with the world.Â
For this photo, I noticed a series of brick arches that created the illusion of a tunnel. I was able to stand in the center of all of them to photograph this illusion, and the photo turned out nicely, especially the stretch of arches after the first arch.
I was walking through the center of Yarmouth when I noticed that in one side-alley, there was an old storage shed. I found it interesting that this run down little shed was surrounded by so many functioning stores, so I took a picture of it.
Continuing my walk through the center of town, I noticed that there was an interesting little overhang by a side entrance of a church. This entrance was at the bottom of a winding staircase, so I stood at the bottom of the stairs and photographed the entrance from a ground view.
