The name of my business is Naughty Dog Stoppers, a business that specializes in preventing naughty dogs from getting into trouble. We sell locks to prevent your dog from getting into trash cans, food containers, cabinets, and other things. We also sell special toys that never break to keep your dog pacified and out of mischief. Finally, we offer two-month long training courses on ways to keep your dog out of trouble. Located at 11 East Main Street, Naughty Dog Stoppers has all your naughty dog needs.
Three concepts I learned about were color meaning, font choice, and font size. Color meaning is very important to get right in a logo, and I struggled with it at the start of my project. I used more bold colors, like a bright red or electric blue, but after realizing that dogs are a playful and light subject, I changed the cross of the first design and the background color of the second to be lighter, as to exemplify the light-hearted aspect of dogs. Font choice was important because I had to sometimes mix fonts. I picked a playful font for both logos because I feel like dogs aren’t meant to be very serious, but after getting 90% of the way through the first logo, I realized that the font had no numbers, and I had to get creative. After finding a font similar to the one I was using, I was able to erase some sharp edges and make the letters look like they were part of the font. Finally, the font size was important because it allowed me to put the name of my business in the spotlight, and put smaller details underneath it in smaller font sizes.
