REFLECTING ON MY GOALS FOR THE SEMESTER:
My goals for the semester were to learn about digital art and graphic design and to create more realistic photoshopping. I’ve learned so much about how to use art digitally, through the use of Adobe Photoshop and the Wacom Tablet. Looking at my first-ever Adobe Photoshop project and my most recent project side by side, you can see the progress I’ve made in terms of Adobe Photoshop knowledge. The cheeseburger was fairly simplistic and easy, whereas the visual pun used more detail and careful erasing and drawing. As for my second goal, I believe I’ve also made lots of progress. My first realistic design was the guinea-penguin, which was fairly simple and didn’t require much effort. However, when you look at my “Gateway” movie poster, it’s clear to see that much more effort went into it.
THE ASSIGNMENT I AM THE PROUDEST OF:
The assignment I am the proudest of is the Movie Posters. I feel like the Movie Poster assignment was the assignment where we put everything we learned on display and showed off our skills of using various photoshop tools, ways of blending images together, and turning images we find on the internet into our own original designs. The “Gateway” poster felt like a culmination of using the skills I learned from assignments like the “Creating Illusions and Morphing” and “Digital Painting” assignments, as I used tools like blending, layering, and the brush tool. The “Through Their Eyes” poster felt like I was using the skills I learned from the Logo Designs (Library and Regular) and the “Doodle 4 Google” assignment. I was able to use skills like layering, the shape tool, and typography. I loved doing these assignments, and I can’t wait to take the posters home at the end of the year!
