MONTESSORI PLACE-BASED EDUCATION

 FOR ADOLESCENTS

In order to promote the development of Montessori adolescent education in Asia, Taiwan Montessori Education Center (TMEC) invited Adam Ladd, director of Hudson Montessori Middle School in USA, to Taiwan for sharing his experience on place-based education. The workshop includes presentations, hands-on projects, and group discussions, which enables participants to understand the principles of place-based education and practical application. 

ADAM LADD 

Middle School Director, Hudson Montessori School, OH, USA

Adam serves as the director of the middle school program at Hudson Montessori School.  He earned his AMI/NAMTA certification in Montessori Adolescent Studies in 2015.

In the summer of 2018, Adam Ladd spent part of his summer assisting instruction at the AMI Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies at Hershey Montessori School. The training hosted 40 participants from all around the world preparing them to teach middle and high school grades using Montessori's developmental approach to learning. During the training, Adam shared his heart-touching experience working in Hudson Montessori School, and organized all participants to have a very successful experience in place-based pedagogy.


KELLY LADD

Kelly has a wide variety of experiences in both public and Montessori education, and in both middle school and high school. In 2016, Kelly accepted a position teaching history at Ruffing Montessori School in Cleveland Heights and earned her AMI/NAMTA certification in Montessori Adolescent Studies in 2017.
